Forging the Path
A downloadable game for Windows and Linux
This is my first game jam where I submit a project. Due to personal circumstances I had 5 days to make this game and I didn't use any engine. Everything was done using Monogame library, Gum UI and Aseprite. This is not at all a finished game, but it is functional and may be fun to play. The game doesn't have any tutorial included so you will have the instructions here in description and also some screenshots for the recipes.
Note: Be careful that there are no sound settings and the volume is set pretty high by default. I would suggest lowering the PC volume before starting the game.
INSTRUCTIONS:
Press „Enter” to skip the speech.
Press „W, A, S, D” to move.
Press „E” to interact with objects.
Press „Esc” to enter menu.
You can buy necessary materials from the Shop.
You can see the materials you own in the Inventory.
You can see tasks in the Orders Menu.
The score of the games will be assigned to the weapons attributes.
After viewing the first order, you can buy the necessary materials from the shop.
The purchased ore will need to be taken from it’s corresponding crate and smelted in the furnace. After the fire inside the furnace has stopped you will be able to take the bar out and put it on the anvil.
Placing any bar on the anvil will activate the first mini game in which you will need to precisely hit the metal in order to transform it in a blade. To begin the game, select the weapon you want to make and than press space when the square meets the middle line. The more precise you are, the greater the blade’s power will be at the end.
After the blade is ready, you can take it to the worktable and combine it with the wood to get the handle of the blade. This time, you will have to drop blocks between the green lines to make the weapon as sturdy as possible.
After you get the weapon, take it to the grindstone for the final game in which you will have to avoid the obstacles coming your way. The more time you spend in the game, the sharper the blade of the weapon will be. After the final game is done, you can take the weapon to the “Orders crate” and send it to the client. The amount of gold coins you make will be determined by the games played to make the weapon.
